‘‘RAN ASWENNA” – The Golden Harvest.
-An Evening of Performing Arts -

 The Graduation Ceremony Night to the 1st batch of PrathibaNiketha Course & the Six - Months Mass Communication Course will be held on Sunday 30th January 2011 at 6.00pm at the Lyceum International School, Nugegoda.

Students of the “PrathibaNiketha”, completed  two year weekend course of Performing Arts and Students of the Mass Communication Program completed six – months week - end course under a full scholarship program, conducted by the Lyceum International School in collaboration with the Mohan Lal  Grero Foundation.

“PrathibaNiketha”-School of Performing Arts was an innovative idea initiated by the late artist Mr.Shesha Palihakkara which commenced on an experimental basis. Its sole aim is to produce all round stage artists.

Dr. Tissa Abeysekera was the other key person who has been closely involved in developing and designing the syllabus with a unique perspective.

 After the demise of these two veteran luminaries of the Sri Lankan arts field, Dr. Sunil Wijesiriwardena took over the role of course coordinator. This Multi-disciplinary course at PrathibhaNiketha is being conducted by such first class functioning artists in Sri Lanka as Ravibandu Vidyapathi, Kolitha Bhanu Dissanayake,Saumya Liyanage, Harsha Makalanda, M.D. Mahindapala, Piyal Kariyawasam, Mahesh Umagiliya, Priyankara Vithanarachchi, Carlo Fernando, Upali Indraguptha and Mal Sri Dias Weerasinghe.

The Mass Communication course of the Mohan Lal Grero Foundation was conducted for a period of six months with theoretical and practical training with the aim of producing the future journalists in Sri Lanka.

Students at this show will present a short Ballet on the “Oedipus” theme, two items of social dances, episodes of short stage productions including two short dramas, and a few music items.

‘‘RAN ASWENNA” –The Graduation Ceremony Night will be declared open by the  Honurable Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development Mr.Dullas Alahaperuma , Minister of Education Mr.Bandula Gunawardena, Deputy Leader of the UNP,  Mr.Karu Jayasooriya, Founder of the Mohan Lal Grero Foundation, Mr.Mohan Lal Grero, Mr. Sathischandra Edirisinghe, Mr. Sunil Edirisinghe, world renowned actresses Mrs. Malani Fonseka, Mrs.Anoja Weerasinghe, in the presence of a distinguished array of  ambassadors, popular film  and drama artists .
